About the role

Lead a high performing wine buying team to ensure Bibendum PLB remain market-leading in product, quality, price and innovation. 

Accountable for sourcing a wine portfolio for all trade channels across On and Off Trade from over 250 wines suppliers across the planet. Agree pricing structure to deliver margin for the business to deliver the targeted budget and provide a sustainable model across a commercial range of wines delivering high levels of service and value to our customer. This key role will manage a team of buyers to deliver the businesses objectives.

What you'll do

  • You'll support all sales teams with expertise to ensure optimal customer proposition which is aligned to supplier strategy
  • Host wine tastings when relevant for both suppliers and customers
  • Deliver to the business the highest quality and most competitive portfolios in each sales channel
  • Conduct competitor reviews and tastings for all channels to ensure we deliver the highest possible quality at all times
  • Work collaboratively with the Sales Teams to identify gaps in our portfolio and new business opportunities to target new suppliers and agree strategic plans
  • Set supplier strategy (in collaboration with category team) for all suppliers.  Facilitate the relevant buyer / supplier manager / marketing team to implement across the business
  • Contribute to company wide projects providing subject matter expertise.

About you

You'll have high levels of proven experience in buying of wine, you'll be competent in negotiation at differing levels, have leadership experience, have an understanding of the UK Drinks Market and have a full UK Driving licence.
