IWC launches digital platform to connect wine industry

Published:  15 October, 2018

The International Wine Challenge (IWC) has launched a digital platform designed to bring together the members of the wine industry from around the world.

Live now, the fortnightly Canopy journal aims to share stories and best practice amongst the IWC’s 10,000 winemakers and encourage them to exchange insights and ideas, with the objective of giving the global IWC community a tool to discuss issues and topics at the heart of the winemaking world.

Many of the IWC’s international judges, who include MWs, wine writers, buyers, consultants and retailers, will contribute to the new publication, which Chris Boiling - award-winning drinks journalist, wine writer and part-time winemaker in Slovenia, has joined as editor.

“The aim is to inspire wine producers to create even better wines and connect them on a global scale,” said Boiling.

Canopy is available on the IWC website and emailed to winery owners, winemakers and viticulturists.

The first edition includes an interview with IWC Red Winemaker of the Year, Hervé Joyaux Fabre, ‘The secrets of making a great-tasting, great-value red’, ‘Top tips for caring for vines’ from viticulturist Rosa Kruger, ‘Six ways to make money from your marc and other winery waste’ and ‘The best ways to break into the UK market’.
