Andrew Higgs returns to Dreyfus Ashby

Published:  01 August, 2018

Dreyfus Ashby has announced Andrew Higgs is returning to the fold after a 12 year hiatus.

Joining from Fields, Morris & Verdin (FMV) - the wholesale division of Berry Brothers & Rudd (BBR), Higgs will in his new role take on responsibility for developing sales in London and the south east.

Higgs, who takes on his new position in September, formed part of the team that took control of Dreyfus Ashby in 1996, after which he left to work briefly with Lay & Wheeler in 2004 before joining Richards Walford in September 2006, which was subsequently sold to BBR in 2012.

Dreyfus owner Richard Kelley MW said: “Andrew brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the business and needless to say we are delighted that he’s agreed to join us to further the development of the company.”

Since taking on the business in 2014, Kelley has elected to concentrate on two primary sources for its wines – South Africa and regional France.

The opportunity to join Dreyfus was a “rare opportunity that rarely occurs in the small world we operate in”, said Higgs.

“It will be great to re-connect with several growers I know and love from my time at Richards Walford and to help develop sales of so many producers new to me,” he said.
