Champagne Warehouse invests in new tech to make re-ordering easier

Published:  30 July, 2018

Champagne Warehouse is rolling out new software that helps wine wholesalers automate back-office functions and gives customers the opportunity to easily order online.

The move to introduce the cloud-based application known as Grapevine follows a successful six-month trial.

Paid for by annual subscription, the software stores product information such as tasting notes, vineyard images, wine awards and component weights, together with more standards details like unit costs, and tier prices in one place.

It also gives customers access to real time stock levels and their pricing information - they can choose from specially selected product lists together with bespoke pricing or be given access to the full product range at their set tier price, ATD Solutions, the Leeds-based specialist software developer behind the application said.

The technology had transformed Champagne Warehouse’s ability to control stock and to forecast accurately, said managing director Tony Stones.

“It also allows us to give our customers more flexibility when ordering and a very simple re-ordering process making their lives easier,” he added.

“We had previously researched the SOP and Stock Control software market and found nothing but general business systems that seemed very cumbersome to implement, whereas Grapevine is perfectly tailored for wine and can be used virtually straight off the shelf. The customer ordering portal is a particularly strong feature,” he said.

ATD Solutions director Ashley Clark said: “Grapevine is a new venture for us, we have invested heavily in its development and are delighted with this early feedback. It has been specifically developed for wine wholesalers and as a fully hosted solution users are free to concentrate on their business and leave all the technology to us.”
