Alastair Pyatt returns to Jascots as head of buying

Published:  05 June, 2018

Jascots has appointed Alastair Pyatt to a newly created head of buying role.

Pyatt, who left Jascots to join Bibendum PLB three years ago to look after its French portfolio, takes on his new role on the 7th of June and will report directly to buying & marketing director Adam Porter.

In the newly created role, Pyatt would be instrumental in helping Jascots to source “exciting new wines not just from France but far beyond", said Porter.

“His appointment increases the strength of our buying and supply chain team and ensures we are prepared to deliver on our plans to deepen our exclusive portfolio over the coming months and years,” he added.

Since Pyatt’s departure three years ago, Jascots’ buying team has grown from two to six people and has until now been headed up by Porter as part of his buying and marketing position.

The new appointment came at a “very exciting” time for Jascots, as the wine merchant geared up to introduce a host of new producers over the coming months, said managing partner Miles MacInnes.

“We have grown our portfolio by over 30% in the last two years and Ally’s valuable experience and expertise will help us to drive the next stage of growth,” he said.

Founded in 1991, Jascots has grown to claim a turnover of more than £9 million following a management buyout in 2016.
