Berry Brothers & Rudd: Commercial Manager

Berry Bros. & Rudd is recruiting a Commercial Manager to join our FMV Sales team. The role will be based at home with travel to our London Offices, Customers and Suppliers as required by the nature and scope of the role.

About our FMV team:

  • Fields, Morris & Verdin is an Agency/Wholesale wine importer.  FMV currently ships from over 100 producers on an exclusive basis and sells directly to the UK trade (both retail and restaurant).  Alongside BB&R Wholesale, FMV forms On and Off Trade sector or BB&R Ltd.
  • FMV and BBR Wholesale distribute wine and spirits nationwide to both on (restaurant) and off (retail) trade customers

The role involves:

  • Managing the price and promotion strategy for FMV (off-trade and national accounts) in order to drive commercial performance
  • Acting as the conduit between Buying, Sales and Trade Marketing to manage wine availability by channel
  • Continually reviewing and improving process management, ensuring effective ways of working
  • Managing range review and product allocation by customer and stock
  • Curating product lists for Sales teams (ex-cellar, large formats, biodynamic etc)
  • Reporting on profitability analysis and sales data
  • Being a part of the project team for development and implementation of CRM
  • Partnering with sales management to eliminate process bottlenecks and inconsistencies
  • Setting wine targets by key producer, performance reporting and actions arising
  • Monitoring the onboarding of new agencies and Y1 performance
  • Managing margin mix orders

  • Will have strong communication and presentation skills
  • Will have IT and appropriate language skills
  • Will have the ability to deliver commercial reports
