Australian Vintage creates two new COO roles

Published:  14 May, 2018

Australian Vintage Limited (AVL) has created two new senior executive roles as part of a strategy to streamline its global sales.

Julian Dyer, formerly general manager UK and Europe, has been promoted to the expanded position of COO for the region, while Cameron Ferguson - previously general manager for Australasia and North America, has been appointed COO for that territory.

Forming part of "an evolution” of the company’s leadership structure, the changes were intended to streamline global sales, marketing and packaging operations as the business continued to focus on product development and innovation, said CEO Neil McGuigan.

“We have taken the decision to re-align the core components of our business making AVL a more agile business with enhanced capabilities,” he said.

The move would increase AVL’s ability to deliver on its vision of making “great quality wine accessible to everyone around the world for every occasion”, he added.

“It is a very important development as we continue to evolve our business into a world-class branded wine company,” said McGuigan.

Dyer said: “I am delighted to have taken on the broader remit across the UK and Europe. We have a brilliant team in this market, and I am committed to enabling them to flourish and to continue to deliver outstanding quality and service with all our trading partners. The changes will allow us to truly align sales, marketing and supply chain to our customers’ needs.’’

AVL’s portfolio includes McGuigan, Tempus Two, Nepenthe, Miranda and Passion Pop.
