Vins de Bordeaux gears up for spring with trade tasting series

Published:  30 April, 2018

Vins de Bordeaux has revealed it is launching a series of educational tastings especially created for wine trade professionals.

The Bordeaux Today series of sessions, which will kick off in London 14th of May, has been designed to showcase how Bordeaux wines suit a broad range of cuisines in addition to demonstrating why the wines are attractive to younger consumers.

Tutors from L’Ecole du Vin de Bordeaux, the CIVB’s Bordeaux wine school, will host the two hour sessions which will, in addition to in the capital, also be run in Liverpool and Edinburgh throughout spring.

The sessions would provide an “accessible introduction” to Bordeaux, covering its wines, history, the different appellations and points of difference with other wine regions and would, in line with “Bordeaux’ s modern approach”, also highlight how the different Bordeaux wine styles pair with popular contemporary cuisines, said the organisation.

Guests will be invited to taste a selection of six to eight red, white, rosé, sparkling and sweet wines aimed at demonstrating the quality and diversity of Bordeaux wines today, with each event also featuring a food and wine tasting session to highlight how well Bordeaux wines match a wide variety of flavours and contemporary foods, starting with unique and innovative pizza toppings.

The sessions will also provide an interactive demonstration of the new OenoBordeaux app, launched by Vins de Bordeaux’s L’Ecole du Vin de Bordeaux late last year to ensure that “everything you need to know about Bordeaux wines is at your fingertips”.

The Bordeaux Today push follows the announcement earlier this month that Vins de Bordeaux was to hold its first ever Bordeaux Wine Month this June.
