Louis Latour Agencies signs deal as Castello Banfi distributor

Louis Latour Agencies has signed a deal as the exclusive UK distributor of Italian winery Castello Banfi, marking the first European winery from outside France to join the agency.

The deal, which takes effect from 1 April, will see Louis Latour take over distribution of the winery’s portfolio across both the on and off-trade.

Founded in 1978, and located in Tuscany, with vineyards in Montalcino and Chianti, the Castello Banfi estate produces a range of wines from Chianti Classico through to single vineyard Brunellos.

A family-owned winery, Castello Banfi was a perfect fit for for Louis Latour, said managing director, Will Oatley.

“Castello Banfi shares the same qualities as our other agencies and will slot in perfectly and complement our existing portfolio,” he said, adding the winery had some of the most exciting wines being made by family run companies from around the world.

Owned by Maison Louis Latour, the historic Burgundy grower negociant, Louis Latour Agencies distributes a selected group of family owned properties owned by some of the world’s leading wine families.
