Fair Drinks teams up with top bars for Fairtrade Fortnight

Published:  23 February, 2018

Ethical spirits company Fair Drinks has teamed up with the London Cocktail Club group and a host of UK bars and restaurants across the UK to mark Fairtrade Fortnight.

The company, which sources only Fairtrade accredited and ethically produced fruits and spices for its spirits and liqueurs, will be looking to raise money from a mix of donations from cocktails sold across LCC bars, along with masterclasses and spirits sales at outlets as diverse as London’s China Tang and Milk and Honey, plus UK wide venues such as Waiting Room in Bristol.

The idea is that the partnering bars and restaurant will donate from .50p to £1 per cocktail sold to the Fairtrade Foundation.

LCC, for example, will be using its "flavours of the month menu" cocktails as the focal point for Fair based drinks, encouraging guests to enjoy life while contributing to producer community wellbeing.

The two week Fairtrade initiative, designed to raise awareness and monies for Fairtrade projects around the world, runs from Monday 26 February to 11 March, helping support Fairtrade farmers and workers that produce the food and drinks qualifying for the accreditation.

This year’s theme is ‘Come on in to Fairtrade’, encouraging businesses to look into the benefits and business opportunities afforded by the programme, while also encouraging involvement though a host of initiatives – both business-wise and domestically – that can support the cause.
