WineGB unveils new branding and 2018 activity

Published:  15 February, 2018

Wines of Great Britain (WineGB) has unveiled its new branding following the merger of Vineyards Association (UKVA) and English Wine Producers (EWP), and the subsequent name change, last year.

The updated branding, which has been revealed alongside activities planned for this year, features a roundel that incorporates the key elements of the industry - grapes and wines - through illustration and wording, together with the prominent use of the union flag to highlight the growing international reputation of wines from Great Britain.

To reflect the “quality and heritage, as well as the “exciting future of our industry”, the branding had been designed to be contemporary and stylish, said marketing director, Julia Trustram Eve.

“It was important to us to have a device that is memorable and recognisable, authoritative and adaptable,” she said.

The new branding and name will be widely communicated across the coming months, with the rebranding of the industry’s competition (now named WineGB Awards) and English Wine Week/Welsh Wine Week, set to follow shortly.

Planned activities for WineGB this year include: AGM and Members’ Conference – Wednesday 25th April, Vintners’ Hall; Trade & Press Tasting – Thursday 26th April, RHS Lindley Hall, London SW1 and English Wine Week and Welsh Wine Week – Saturday 26th May – Sunday 3rd June.
