London's first bulk wine show opens for business

Published:  03 January, 2018

London’s first bulk wine show is now open for registration, offering buyers, brokers, retailers and producers the chance to find out more about this booming section of the UK wine industry.

Members of the trade can now sign up for next month’s International Bulk Wine & Spirits Show (IBWSS), a one-stop-shop designed specifically for those looking to create or develop their own private label, contract bottling and bulk wine businesses.

Over the course of the two days, visitors are invited to and hear from some of the biggest names in the industry, including Clem Yates, sourcing and supply director at Off-Piste Wines, who will walk through how to build a private label strategy and Harpers editor Andrew Catchpole who will lead a roundtable discussion on how retailers can build a profitable private label.

Other speakers include Florian Ceschi, director at Ciatti Europe, who will present findings and data on the growth and opportunity of New World markets like Chile and South Africa, Morrisons’ Clive Donaldson on how to attract the attention of retail buyers and Broadland Wineries CEO Mark Lansley on how to optimise bulk wine business models to drive profitability.

The new annual trade show and conference encompasses the spectrum of the bulk wine industry, from wineries looking to meet demand and importers looking to diversify their portfolio to retailers thinking about creating their own private labels, and brokers who are looking to meet new growers and producers.

Whether you are looking for insights on how to optimise an existing business model or how to create a new one from scratch, the event also offers opportunities to meet one to one with industry experts to speak about your businesses as well as learn about how to deal with things like regulatory issues and how to set up a corporate responsibility program.

The trade show component of the event will also give supermarkets, retailers, restaurants, wineries, distilleries and other buyers a platform to source bulk wine and spirits and meet private label suppliers.

For two days, visitors will have a chance to spend time on the trade show floor, meeting one-on-one with both buyers and sellers in the center of London.

The International Bulk Wine & Spirits Show (IBWSS) is coming to London's Royal Horticultural Halls in media partnership with Harpers on 26 & 27 February, 2018.
