Ade McKeon joins Accolade Wines as UK and Ireland GM

New World leader Accolade Wines has a new general manager for the UK and Ireland.

Ade McKeon joins from outside the company to replace Rob Harrison who is leaving the company to pursue alternate career opportunities.

A three-month transition period begins today, with Harrison due to officially depart at the end of the financial year.

McKeon joins Accolade from a long career working with wine brands and in retail.

Most recently, he spent four years with Asda in commercial and brand leadership roles.

This was preceded by two years as trading director for Musgrave Retail Partners where he spearheaded the integration of the Booker Retail Partners' acquisition of the Londis and Budgens owner.

Booker has since become part of Tesco.

Prior to joining Asda, McKeon held various strategic marketing, sales and general management roles at Ernest & Julio Gallo, Canandaigua Wine Company, Southcorp and Constellation Wines. 

McKeon will report directly to CEO Michael East, and will be responsible for leadership and business growth of Accolade's portfolio in the UK where the company has strong links via Hardys and other brands.

Accolade Wines is the world's fifth largest wine company by volume, delivering approximately 38 million, 9 litre cases to over 140 countries annually.

The company is headquartered in Australia, and has grown from its beginnings in1853 at Hardys winery into a global wine company.
