Coquard competition winner announced

Published:  23 July, 2008

The winner of the Maison Coquard Beaujolais Design a Label' competition, run in conjunction with Harpers and Coquard's UK agent D&D Wines, was announced last week.

Christophe Coquard of Maison Coquard unveiled the winning design at the Harpers' stand at the LIWSF.

From the shortlist of entries displayed on the Harpers stand, Coquard in the end chose an entry from his native country. The winner was Marie Pellaton, from Paris, which indicates the broad reach of Harpers within the international wine trade!

Explaining his decision, Coquard said: I was very impressed with the quality of the entries, but this design really stood out for its simplicity and contemporary approach. I feel this will complement my existing range, and I look forward to seeing the label on a UK shelf soon.'

Ms Pellaton will win a two-night trip to the Beaujolais region, including a hot air balloon ride over the vineyards, and a mixed case of Maison Coquard wines. She will also see her design realised on the Maison Coquard Ros.

Coquard unveiled new plans for his Beaujolais Nouveau ranges. Covering both the generic Beaujolais and Beaujolais Villages appellations, these wines will be produced and packaged to fit into Coquard's contemporary portfolio.
