Making their debut at the Viniportugal Annual Trade tasting on March 2 were François Lurton's newly released Quinta do Malho 2008 (rrp £30), Quinta Beira Douro 2008 (rrp £12.99) and the Barco Negro Branco 2010 (rrp £7.99) from its small Douro properties.

Having left the vineyards of Bordeaux behind in the 90s and setting up his own properties in Argentina and Chile, it was in 2004 that François Lurton fell in love with the Douro and was determined to make wine there in his own vineyard. Since 2006 he is proud owner of two small Quintas on contrasting sites both in the Cima Corgo close to Pinhão.
