CWF, the Yorkshire based importer, agent, producer, bottler and distributor of wines and alcoholic beverages - has launched a range of light British wines produced from imported grape juice offering exceptional value for money - enabling the off trade to take advantage of growth in the take home drinks sector driven by the credit crunch.

Introduced this month, the Silver Bay Point range is available in off trade cash & carry outlets, and the independent retail and off licence sectors. There are three 75cl variants available - a soft juicy red, a medium fragrant white and a light refreshing rosé. The recommended everyday price point is £2.99 per bottle - 50p cheaper than the average price of £3.49 upwards for UK off trade ranges - and there is also scope for ongoing promotions such as "Two bottles for £5".

Silver Bay Point was created by CWF to provide the off trade with a collection of wines offering value for money, to enable them to demonstrate to consumers with less disposable income than before that they can still enjoy a glass of wine at home. The core female audience will also be attracted by the range's premium "New World" look and lower 8% alcohol content.

Vicky Lee, (Marketing Manager) of CWF, said: "Silver Bay Point ticks all the boxes for today's off trade sector. It represents good quality at a fantastic price and gives cash & carries and independents the opportunity to run their own attention grabbing promotions that will drive sales even further. At the moment cash strapped consumers are looking to the off trade to provide them with competitively priced drinks, and Silver Bay Point certainly helps them to meet this need. At a time when people are turning away from the more expensive mainstream brands in favour of tertiary ranges, this new collection of wines ensures that the off trade can maximise profit potential despite the economic climate."
