Spier extends ontrade range

Published:  18 January, 2007

South African producer Spier has expanded its ontrade range.

Colours, launched in the UK in May 2007, the core range or Chenin sauvignon Blanc and Merlot has been expanded to include Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinotage and Ros.

The recommended retail price for the wines is between 5.50 to 6.00.

The Colours range was launched to satisfy demand for well-structured, fruit-driven South African wines in the on-trade, according to Spier.

Sealed with a screwcap closure, the revitalised portfolio features 2007 Chenin Blanc sourced from the Breede River Valley, 2007 Chardonnay with two months lees maturation and 2006 Pinotage with six months barrel age.

Rounding out the extended range is the 207 Colours Ros, comprised of 100% Pinotage handpicked from the Breed River Valley in the Western Cape.

The Spier Colours range is available nationally through PLB on 01342 318 282.
