Conviviality Retail buys 15 convenience stores in the South East

Published:  12 December, 2016

Conviviality PLC is expanding its presence in the South East with the acquisition of KMD Enterprises Ltd (KMD).

Conviviality Retail, the retail arm of Convivality PLC, is expanding its presence in the South East with the acquisition of KMD Enterprises Ltd (KMD).

The deal sees Conviviality acquire all 15 KMD stores - all based in the South East - the majority of which will be converted to the Bargain Booze Select Convenience fascia.

The franchised retail business, which has around 700 stores in its estate, bought the business for an undisclosed sum as it focuses on filling gaps in the South East.

"The acquisition of KMD further strengthens our convenience store business, and again demonstrates our ambitious growth plans in this area," David Robinson, Conviviality Retail MD added.

"These new stores are located in the South East of England and this is an important geographic expansion for Conviviality Retail as our brands are currently underrepresented in this region.

"We will continue to grow our store estate, partnering with both new and existing franchisees to help them grow their store portfolios with quality, well located retail outlets."

Conviviality Retail currently includes 716 franchised stores run by 380 franchisees across its Bargain Booze, Bargain Booze Select Convenience and Wine Rack stores.
