Published:  05 February, 2016

Champagne Deutz is to be the official champagne partner for the 2016 season of the Garsington Opera.

Garsington Opera takes place through June and July at the Opera Pavilion on the Getty family's Wormsley Estate at Stokenchurch in the Chilterns.

As part of the sponsorship Champagne Deutz will be served exclusive at the festival's Champagne Bar and Long Room Restaurant.

Cuvées on offer will be the house's Brut Classic, Brut Rosé, Blanc de Blanc 2009 and Cuvée William Deutz 2000.

Richard Witter, brand manager for Champagne Deutz in the UK, said: "This is a perfect partnership for Champagne Deutz, an elegant Champagne with a long and distinguished history, served in some of the world's most prestigious restaurants and revered by the most discerning customers.

"We are delighted to be offering Champagne Deutz in such a beautiful setting this year."

Garsington Opera was founded in 1989 by the Leonard and Rosalind Ingrams at Garsington Manor, near Oxford.

It moved to the Wormsley Estate in 2011 after the death of Leoanrd Ingrams.

The 2016 season at Garsington includes Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, Mozart's Idomeneo, and a rare performance of Haydn's The Creation staged in collaboration with Ballet Rambert.

Founded in 1838, Champagne Deutz has vineyards in both Aÿ and the Côtes des Blancs.

It is distributed in the UK by González Byass, which has dramatically expanded Deutz's sales in the on-trade since taking over the account in late 2013..
