Copestick Murray expands again with new off-trade hire

Published:  29 January, 2016

Copestick Murray has underlined its rapid growth with a further key new appointment for its sales team.

Alex Green, whose previous experience includes being wine buyer for Sainsbury's, McColl's and Buyco, joins the company as national account manager for the off trade.

The news follows on from a slew of major hires in the autumn which saw the company announce new account managers in both the on- and off-trade, together with a new head of business development, strategy and export, and a new technical and production manager.

Green's focus in the off-trade is expected to be in the national convenience and grocery sectors.

Robin Copestick, managing director of Copestick Murray, said: "While our i heart and Mionetto brands continue to outperform the market it is imperative that we have the right people in our organisation.

"I have known Alex for a few years and his work ethic, passion and insight has always impressed me. I am delighted that he has decided to join us."

Green said: "The i heart brand has been a stand out product wherever I have worked so naturally I am very excited to work with this product and of course Copestick Murray. It is great to join such a vibrant and ambitious team.

"I can also see a bright future for the Mionetto brand and having been privy to some fantastic Copestick Murray-designed NPD I cannot wait to get going."

Copestick Murray grew by 15% in 2014, in large part thanks to the growth of its 'I Heart' wine range.

It is expected to announce further record turnover and profit figures for 2015 shortly.
