First there was Summertown, then Jericho for Oxford Wine Café

Published:  24 September, 2015

Oxford Wine Co is preparing to open its second café in the city.

The new Oxford Wine Café is in the Jericho district and, like the first branch in the city's Summertown, has a selection of 150 wines, 22 by the glass.

It opens on October 1 and will be managed by George Sandbach, son of managing director Ted Sandbach.

The wine manager Ronald Exenberger is joining the operation from Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons, Raymond Blanc's two Michelin star restaurant.

Ted Sandbach said: "The opening of a second branch of the Oxford Wine Café is a logical step following the success of the first wine café in Summertown.

"The move balances our portfolio with retail, wholesale and on-trade and there is a great deal of synergy between all three operations, as well as enhancing our name and presence in the centre of Oxford."
