South African wine producer Perdeberg joins Boutinot portfolio in the UK

Published:  11 September, 2015

Boutinot is taking on the UK agency for South African producer Perdeberg Wines.

Perdeberg is based in Paarl and head winemaker Albertus Louw works with unirrigated bush-vine fruit from the grower-shareholders' vineyards and selected other sites around the Cape.

Boutinot will handle the producer's full portfolio of brands for all sectors of the UK trade, including the SAAM Mountain range.

It will unveil a new Dry Land Collection for the specialist wine merchant sector (rrp £11.99) at next week's Cape Wine exhibition in Cape Town.

Boutinot's South Africa buyer Robin Naylor said: "Boutinot and Perdeberg have known each other for a number of years and we have long been an admirer of its pure quality and enviable annual haul of medal- and trophy-winning wines.

"Perdeberg's attention to detail and sheer finesse in their own-branded wines belies their large scale.

"The market response to date has been fantastic and we look forward to forging new relationships with our shared customers from this month."

Perdeberg chief executive officer Gerhard van der Watt added: "Boutinot's demands on quality, innovative spirit and demonstrated success as a leading supplier in the UK resonated with our ambition to offer the market products with difference and provenance."
