Bancroft adds California's Castle Rock to agency list

Published:  19 August, 2015

Bancroft Wines has added the agency for Castle Rock wines from California to its list.

The company will take on four wines from the producer from early September: Central Coast Chardonnay 2013 (rrp £12.50), Monterrey Pinot Noir 2013 (£15.50), Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 (£13.99) and Lodi Zinfandel 2012 (£13.99).

Bancroft brand and communications manager Sophie McLean said: "We've sourced these wines in response to customer demand for something that represents regionality, lifestyle and excellent bang for your buck.

"California is known for iconic, small production, generally high cost wines.

"While we have Chateau Montelena on our books, we want to offer something at the other end of category that will still impress on the palate.

"We're confident these wines are the perfect sweet spot for areas of the market that we aren't yet covering."

Castle Rock was founded in 1994 and the name was inspired by a fictional town in Stephen King novels.
