Last chance for shops to take part in Shop Rioja campaign and win £1,000 for new listings

Independent wine retailers have a last chance to enter the Shop Rioja campaign and win £1,000 towards new listings of the Spanish region's wines.

The campaign, run by Wines of Rioja, is free to enter and is dedicated to raising the profile and awareness of the region.

To take part, retailers need to have five Rioja producers represented in their range throughout the promotion in October, including at least one white Rioja. Wines of Rioja has created bespoke point-of-sale material to support sales and will run a social media campaign with the hastag #RiojaWine.

Shops are being encouraged to run tastings and other events for a chance to win the prize and be named Rioja Retailer of the Year.  

There will be one prize for smaller operations with between one and three stores and one for larger chains of four-15 stores.

Rioja is enjoying record global sales and saw UK value sales increase by 9% in the year to December 2014 [Nielsen].
