London Wine Fair 2015 kicks off

Published:  19 May, 2015

The 35th annual London Wine Fair 2015 which kicked off at Olympia in the heart of London yesterday started with a bang.

On the first day organisers and exhibitors alike seemed to be equally pleased at the quality and quantity of the business meetings that are being conducted.

Will Broadfoot, the marketing director of LWF, was impressed at the level of business that had already taken place by midday. He said: Already here is a good buzz and there is a serious amount of business already being conducted."

Andrew Hawes, managing director, Metzendorff said: "I could not be happier about this show.  We are so pleased. The London Wine Fair has regained everything that we hoped it would. There is diversity, the wine trade is here, it is fun but we are doing business too."

The quality of the visitors as well,w which is major focus for the show according to Broadfoot has impressed exhibitors.

Steve Gerrard, managing director of Barwell & Jones, said: "We really asked ourselves if we should do it this year. But we have been growing and investing and now have twenty different wineries and I am glad we did. London Wine Fair has really changed its personality and perception. The quality of the visitors that are attending is major plus."

"There is a good blend of people and the first day has been very busy.  There is good energy and that is what you want. There is better connectivity between people. We are equally pleased with the quality of people.  And there is time to talk to them all, which is a great balance," said Hawes.
