Trade visitors to Matthew Clark's #WhyWeLoveWine event next week will have the chance to taste over 30 new producers that have been taken on by the wholesaler.

Matthew Clark said it has expanded its portfolio to meet what it said were "market trends and customer demands".

For example, it has introduced new Chablis producers, Domaine Marguerite Carillon, Bouchard Aîné and Pierre Dupond, in response to have been a 20% increase in Chablis sales in the last year.

Similarly it has added to its sparkling wine and English wine range following a 30% increase in sparkling sales by introducing Camel Valley from Cornwall and a range of Crémants from family-run Loire producer Maison Sauvion.

Both Camel Valley's Sam Lindo and Pierre-Jean Sauvion from Maison Sauvion will be at the #WhyWeLoveWine tasting next week at Tobacco Dock in London on March 3.

Simon Jerrome, purchasing director of Matthew Clark, said of the new range: "Over the last few years we have developed and built our premium offering, which has been extremely well-received by customers, and is reflected in the uplift we've seen in these sectors. This year we are bringing on board an array of producers which will give depth to our portfolio, providing our customers with even more options, to help them diversify their wine offering and drive profitability in the on-trade sector."
