Recent times have seen Jon Pepper MW leave the role of managing director at Buckingham Schenk to become buying and retail director at Enotria, while Craig Durham was promoted from sales director to managing director.

Tromans said: "Buckingham Schenk is widely recognised as one of the country's leading wine importers and I am delighted to be given the opportunity to work at such a dynamic company. I am particularly looking forward to working with Viñalba and to be involved in Buckingham's incredibly active NPD programme."

Tromans will oversee the company's product development programme in addition to developing Buckingham Schenk's brand and social media strategies.

Durham said: "We're delighted to welcome David to Buckingham; his breadth of experience in product development and the wine industry is a fantastic addition to the team. We are confident that his marketing and NPD knowledge along with his social media awareness will be a real asset to the company and that he will help us develop our existing brand base as well as aiding the growth of new products."

Tromans has worked in the wine trade for over 15 years. He was Enotria's insights and innovations manager where he oversaw new product development projects. Tromans also had stints at the WSTA, Berry Bros & Rudd and Cellier des Dauphins.
