Wine lover and collector Peter Dean is surprised by Bergerac's "treasure trove" of wines

Published:  08 January, 2015

My 'road to Damascus' moment with wine came 10 years ago when I was served an array of perfectly aged bottles, which were all drinking superbly, with food that matched. Although I had always had an interest, from this point on I started taking wine seriously as a subject: drinking and buying a lot of it with the requisite research, effort and hopefully some skill. I started a small wine club soon after and have written about fine wine for three years - continuing to love the sense of discovery that accompanies finding a new producer, an over-looked vintage or a region that you knew little about. Oh and I bloody love drinking the stuff.
