MW COATES CALLS TIME ON THE VINE

Clive Coates MW - the UK's answer to Robert Parker - is to stop publishing his on-line magazine The Vine. On his website, Coates said: I had been planning to wind down in 2006, when I reached 65, but a recent hospitalisation has persuaded me to stop now.' He said that he would still be publishing tasting notes on the website, www.clive-coates.com, adding: I hope I have managed to get across the point that fine wine is more than mere point-scoring. It is part of the art of good living.'
