Diageo, which owns Johnnie Walker as well as the Gleneagles resort where the tournament is being held, is encouraging fans to book a tee-off time to play on its four-hole course while the professionals battle it out on the neighbouring main course.

The mini golf course forms part of the pop-up Johnnie Walker Experience where players, media and guests can sample a Johnnie & Ginger as the drama of The Ryder Cup takes place just a short walk away.

The whisky brand is planning a number of activities around the tournament, including an ambitious plan calling on 25,000 people to 'Join the Pact' during Ryder Cup week by committing to never drink and drive. 

Johhnie Walker's global brand director Guy Escolme, said: "Whisky and golf are two of Scotland greatest gifts to the world and what better way to celebrate them than with a visit to our spectacular pop-up house and a thrilling game of Mini Golf?"

Diageo has been associated with the Ryder Cup since the 1980s. In the past 10 years, Diageo has invested over £30 million in golf through its brands, sponsorships and the Gleneagles resort.

Diageo also owns brands including Crown Royal, J&B, Buchanan's, Windsor and Bushmills whiskies, Smirnoff, Cîroc and Ketel One vodkas, Captain Morgan, Baileys, Don Julio, Tanqueray and Guinness.
