Thirty benchmark Australian wines have been chosen to be served at the series of pop-up dinners to be held by Restaurant Australia in London later this month.

The initiative hopes to showcase the best in Australian food and wine through a series of week long dinners at Australia House, where some 1,000 diners will be served across six State-themed dinners between September 22 and September 27.

Organised by Tourism Australia the event includes 30 wines chosen by Wine Australia and the event's compere Justin Knock MW that best reflect the country's diversity and regional wine offer.

Wine Australia will also help run two free pour tastings prior to two of the dinners. "These will focus on South Australia and Western Australia and will be hosted by the respective State governments, said Wine Australia.

The dinners will be prepared by leading Australian chefs, Maggie Beer, Matt Stone and Shannon Bennett.

Emma Symington, Wine Australia's UK events and education manager Emma Symington said:

"This is a great chance for our producers to tell the Australian food and wine story in a context that is both fun and engaging while being completely unique to the UK market," she says.

Tickets cost £100 and can be purchased through Mail Online.
