Richard Evans of Dedicated Wines, the UK wine agency that helped devise the Les Dauphins wine brand, and Daniel Murphy of bulk wine brokers, Murphy Wine Company, will both share their experiences of French wine at this October's Harpers France Summit.

The day promises a packed agenda including open trade debates, seminars, insights, masterclasses and tastings and will also include an afternoon session where different operators, both big and small, share some of their stories working with French wine.

Evans will look at how he has helped create a number of French wine brands through his career including La Difference and most recently the successful Rhone brand, Les Dauphins, Dedicated Wines helped create for Cellier des Dauphins.

He will talk through his experiences of creating wine brands and, in particular, look at the strength of French wine in making that important instant connection with UK consumers. Les Dauphins was launched in May 2011 and has gone on to have great success expanding in to a number of lines with major listings with most of the UK supermarkets, proving you can have success with new French wine brands in the UK market.

Daniel Murphy will take a close look at the bulk wine market and the work he has done through his bulk wine broking business, Murphy Wine Company, in working with French wine. Murphy will examine the role and growth of bulk wine within the French wine category and look ahead to how the UK trade might make the most of the French bulk wine opportunity.

The day will conclude with the Harpers French Wine Awards based on the votes of key trade figures which will determine which supermarkets, independents, restaurants, bars and individuals will be rewarded for their achievement selling French wine over the last year.
