English winery, Gusbourne Estate, is to mark its 10 year anniversary with a key sponsorship of this year's Digital Wine Communications Conference to be held in in Montreux, Switzerland between October 31 and November 2.

It will use its link up with the conference to hold a special tasting of key library wines from the estate over the last 10 years, hosted by the winery's chief executive, Ben Walgate.

This year's DWCC is the seventh to be held in different cities across Europe and the fact it is able to attract high level sponsorship from an English winery shows how far the English wine industry has come, said DWCC co-founder, Ryan Opaz.

He said: "When we ran our very first wine bloggers' conference in 2008, online wine communications was in its infancy, as was the English wine movement. Seven years on, we're delighted that both have taken off with such success; having a pioneer like Gusborne as a sponsor of the DWCC is a great fit."

Christian Holthausen, head of marketing and communications at Gusbourne, said of the partnership: "I attended my first DWCC in Franciacorta in 2011 (when it was still called the European Wine Bloggers' Conference) and was immediately impressed by this international conference dedicated to the convergence of wine and the web. There is still nothing else like it in the world and it is truly in a class by itself."
