FORMER ODDBINS MARKETING CHIEF LAUNCHES CONSULTANCY

Published:  23 July, 2008

By Jack Hibberd

The former marketing chief of Oddbins, Laurie Webster, has set up Raisin Sauvage, a new marketing services agency for drinks companies. Webster, who most recently was head of marketing at entertainment retailer HMV, said that the new agency will offer a full range of creative services, from graphic design and NPD to brand identity and advertising'. I have wanted to do this for a while now,' said Webster. Actually, I was keen to get back into the wine sector almost as soon as I left it, as I missed the product so much. The company philosophy is based around delivering design and strategy solutions that are creative, relevant and blissfully free of marketing rhetoric - my extensive experience on the client side forms the basis of this approach.' The company will focus on the retail arena, and Webster told Harpers that he already has five clients. I am doing a lot of new product development and branding work,' he said. For example, I am working with Vinoceros to redevelop the 16-strong Vistamar range, and am in talks with Unwins about working with them on some NPD projects. I am also working with a famous London fine wine merchant on its brand identity.' Raisin Sauvage has set up its office in London and currently has three staff.
