A new logo has been produced to help English Wine Producers promote and celebrate English Wine Week which takes place between May 24 and June 1 across the UK.

The new design has been created by Amphora Design and features a wine glass, vine tendrils and a red rose which helps to capture English wine in a glass. It will be supported in the trade with a range of point of sale materials aimed at different sectors of the trade.

These include leaflets, posters and bottle neck tags for the off-trade, which can be tailored to individual retailers, as well as window stickers, bunting and banners for in-store theatre. Restaurants and bars can use menu cards and promotional leaflets . Most of the materials are free of charge and available from English Wine Producers.

English Wine Week will look to promote the category with activity in all channels including the multiple retailers, independents retailers and the on-trade.Waitrose and Laithwaite's are both on board.

This year's campaign is being co-ordinated by project manager, Zoë Davey.

Julia Trustram Eve, marketing director, of English Wine Producers, said:  "Having Zoë on board has given the initiative a huge boost with uptake quadrupling since last year. We want to encourage people who have never tried English wine to just give it a go and we're confident that the new branding will help to raise awareness."

Rebecca Hull MW, wine buyer at Waitrose, said: "We will be supporting English Wine Week with some special offers and 'Buyer's Choice' recommendations in-store and online. In early May, we will be launching a new Waitrose English Dry White as well as our own Leckford Estate 2011 Brut which is very exciting. We're also planning to hold another English wine tasting at our Oxford Street Food Hall after last year's successful event."

English Wine Producers is holding a trade and press tasting on May 7 to showcase the wines and promote English Wine Week. It takes place at the Institute of Civil Engineers, One Great George Street in London.
