Copestick Murray latches on to World Cup fever with launch of Brazilian Moscato

Published:  04 February, 2014

Copestick Murray hopes to tap in to World Cup fever early with the launch of a new sparkling Moscato sourced direct from Brazil which is the latest brand in the award winning I Heart wine portfolio.

The Moscato comes in striking Brazil colours and Copestick Murray is confident it will be popular with football fans, whatever their nationalilty, in the build up to the World Cup in Brazil in June.

The wine was personally sourced by Robin Copestick, co-founder of Copestick Murray, during a tour of the country last year and is being produced by leading Brazilian wine producer, Vinicola Aurora.Copestick believes it will also add further strength to the overall I Heart brand which continues to gain listings in major multiples.

Rachel Archer, I heart wines brand manager, said: "We are really excited about the latest addition to the I heart range, with I heart Brasil showing the endless possibilities for the brand. We have worked with Vinicola Aurora on a bespoke blend for the UK market and we are also happy to be introducing a lower alcohol wine at 8.5% into the I heart range. It was very important for us to find the right lower alcohol wine, and for the lower alcohol to be natural. 2014 is set to be another strong year for the I heart brand."

The Moscato is going to be supported leading up to the World Cup with a PR campaign diirected at consumer magazines. It will be part of Wines of Brasil's 'Wake up the Brazilian in You' consumer campaign in 2014.

The I heart Brasil Sparkling Moscato is made up of 50% Moscato Bianco and 50% Moscato Giallo and has a rrp of £9.99.

Copestick said the launch is part of a major push for Copestick Murray in to the overall sparkling wine category and the trade can expect to see further brand developments driven by its co-owner, Henkell, one of the largest producers of sparkling wine and Prosecco in the world with over 16 separate brands. Henkell, which is part of the Oetker Gruppe, took a 60% stake in Copestick Murray last August.
