Concha y Toro looks to new recruits to help drive its growth strategy

Concha y Toro UK is going on a recruitment drive to bring key new people in to the company following a strategic review of the business.

The first of a series of senior appointments have been announced this week with the news that Clare Griffiths is to join the company from Accolade Wines as its first marketing director. She will be responsible for overseeing the commercial marketing, customer marketing and category insights team. Griffiths will also develop and implement plans for CyT's key brands from Chile, Argentina and California. She had previously been marketing director for Europe at Accolade Wines.

Nicola Hale,  who was previously commercial manager, has been promoted to the new position of business strategy director, with responsibility for ensuring Concha y Toro UK's plans are implemented effectively and sustainably.

Simon Doyle, Concha y Toro UK's general manager, said: "I'm delighted to be able to welcome someone of Clare's calibre and experience to the crucial role of marketing director, alongside Nicola taking on the new position of business strategy director. Both appointments are great news for the UK office, and further evidence of Concha y Toro's ongoing commitment to the UK market."

He added the company has set itself "ambitious growth objectives for the coming years" and it was important it had in a place a  "well-organised, focused and co-ordinated team" to "deliver those goals". 

"Clare and Nicola's appointments are the latest in a series of key placements for the Concha y Toro UK team, to ensure we're fit for purpose," said Doyle who confirmed further appointments will be made in the new year.

Griffiths said of her new role: "I look forward to continuing to build our portfolio of strong brands and working in partnership with our customers to drive wine category value sales in the UK market place."

Hale said: "I'm excited by the new challenge provided by this role, which gives me the chance to deliver a growth strategy that will advance all areas of our business, benefitting our customers and building our key brands."
