Published:  23 July, 2008

Export rewarded

Vinfruco, the leading South African wine producer, has received the President's Award for Export Achievement from South Africa president, Thabo Mbeki. Exports have increased by almost 100% in three years. The company has brought together some of the premier vignerons and winemakers from South Africa's best wine-making regions to form an alliance. The company has moved from bulk wine and own label to developing brands such as Arniston Bay and Oak Village. Vinfruco has new headquarters in Stellenbosch which brings together warehousing, blending rooms, cellars, offices and maybe a dedicated bottling line. The company has also invested in its UK office in Farnham Royal, Buckinghamshire. Vinfruco managing director, Teuns Keuzenkamp, said: "The UK is a key market for us and our investment both here and in our new headquarters in South Africa is a significant step for us as it reflects our determination to be at the forefront of innovation and development."
