The final round of judging takes place on September 30 from which the panelists will decide if they want to take on any of the wineries.

Nicky Forrest, managing direcctor of Wines of Germany UK, said: "The quality across the board of all the wines we tasted yesterday has surpassed even our expectations. The number of entries we have received shows that there is a huge appetite amongst producers to crack the UK market. With the quality available and the strong desire to enter the market, it is a very exciting time for German wine. There are some amazing undiscovered producers in Germany and we hope that our Get it On competition will introduce some of them to the UK over the next few months."
