Living Ventures scoops top Cocktail in the City award

Living Ventures-branded bar The Alchemist has won the Overall Winner title at Leeds inaugural Cocktails in the City event.

Fourteen of Leeds' top bars united in Leeds Town Hall for an evening of tasting and tutoring last week.

Each participating venue hosted their own individually decorated pop-up bar, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy a different signature-serve cocktail created with each venue's elected paired spirit.

The event served in excess of 1,200 cocktails to over 450 people across five hours.

Founder Andrew Scutts also invited a panel of judges to find the Best Cocktail, Best Bar Personality, Best Show Stand and Overall Winner from the event.

The Maven took home the title of Best Cocktail with its Elderlady, Best Bar Personality went to the team from Trio's, Best Show Stand went to Bibis and Overall Winner to The Alchemist.

Sam Fish, General Manager of MOJO Bar, which took a stand at the event, said: "With events like this we are rediscovering our own passion for drinks and at the same time creating a fantastic buzz in the city, which helps people to remember how incredible our independent bar scene is."
