What claims to be the UK's first authentic and dedicated cava bar has just opened, only a stone's throw from St Paul's cathedral in London.

Copa de Cava is housed in the brick vaults beneath Camino San Pablo, and offers what it says is the widest range of cavas in London with 28 different varieties on the list.

These include the finest Brut, Reserva and Grand Reserva cavas catering for the growing taste in the UK for good quality cava. The menu also includes eight cavas served by the glass, which start from £4.75. With so many cavas to discover, guests can also choose from the 'Copa de Cava To Go' menu, which features all 28 cavas to be enjoyed at home or given as gifts, as well as the short selection of still wines mainly from Penedés, the main cava production area.

To mop up all that cava, there are a wide selection of pairing dishes, including navaias (razor clam, broad beans and chorizo), and carpaccio of fillet steak with Lilliput capers and manchego shavings on offer. Seafood and charcuterie platters are also available to share.

For those looking for a more substantial meal, Camino San Pablo upstairs offers a full classic Spanish tapas menu including garlic tiger prawns (Gambas al Ajillo) and Jamón pata negra.

Copa de Cava is the latest offering from the Camino Group which includes the group's award winning sherry bar Pepito. Camino also has restaurants in Canary Wharf, Monument and King's Cross.
