Delegates at Harpers' California Summit on June 4 will be able to get exclusive insights into how the big Californian wine brands are promoting their products, thanks to analysis of promotional activity by brand-tracking specialists Brand View.

Business development manager David Beech will reveal what promotional activity is most effective for California, as well as how these promotions impact on the rest of the category.

Beech joins a line-up of speakers including Paul Schaafsma of Accolade Wines, Bibendum's Andrew Shaw, Tesco buyer Lucy Clements and brand marketing expert Andrew Marsden.

The off-trade debate will also feature contributions from Robin Copestick, Copestick Murray and Cornerstone (US importer); Eileen Ginger, wine buyer, Whitbread; and Kingsland Wines & Spirits' wine director, Karen Wilson.

Mark Andrew of Roberson Wine and Christian Jacobsen of MASH will also lead two masterclasses at the summit, run in association with the Wine Institute of California.

Aimed at trade buyers, this free event promises to be the most insightful California-focused event of the year. Opening with a research-driven category overview and delivering interactive industry debates, this summit will provide an unrivalled platform to further category understanding and help you to drive California as an engaging and profitable part of your wine portfolio.

The opening research session kicks off the day at the California Summit and is a must-attend. This research-backed category insight session, presented by industry leaders and commentators, will reveal how and where California wine is best performing in the key UK channels.

Have your say at the Big Players' Debate: the benefits and challenges of embracing California, which will examine how to successfully engage with Californian wines in the multiple off and on-trade channels, drawing on the expertise of those at the forefront of sourcing, distributing, marketing and selling California wines in the UK.

The Premium View: can California deliver for independents and restaurants? is an open debate, assessing the opportunities and challenges presented by the category for the independent merchant and premium on-trade sectors, with special focus on how to structure a portfolio to ensure sustainable and profitable returns from mid-priced California wines.

The summit takes place at No 11 Cavendish Square, London W1. To register, email summit.registration@wrbm.com.
