Naked Wines hopes to help English winemaker Katie Jones get back on her feet after her entire white wine vintage was destroyed by vandals at her winery in Languedoc, south west France last month.

It is offering its customers the chance to buy on pre-sell up to 20,000 bottles of wine it has been able to source for Jones from a neighbouring winery. Jones has selected a parcel of Corbieres which Naked Wines is going to offer to its customers, known as Angels, along with a bottle of Jones' Fitou in cases costing £80 from Thursday.

This will go some way to replacing the 2012 vintage of Jones' award winning Grenache Gris which was destroyed when vandals opened up her vats at her winery, Domaine Jones, in Tuchan, Languedoc, whilst she was away attending Prowein.

Naked Wines customers were asked in an online poll if they would like to help out Jones with over 2,000 replying they would. Naked Wines is confident the wine will sell out when it is released on Thursday allowing Jones to carry on winemaking and produce the 2013 vintage.

Jones said: "I am grateful for this overwhelming show of support. When I lost my entire white wine vintage it was a disaster, but this will help us get back on our feet."

Eamon Fitzgerald at Naked Wines said: "When we read about Katie's plight we felt we had to do something. As ever our customers show they really care about good wine and great winemakers."
