Moreno Wines takes on ex-Plumpton Harry Hunt's Andalucian wines

Spanish wine specialist, Moreno Wines, is take on the wines from former Plumpton Wine College graduate, Harry Hunt, from what is the the first negociant-style business in Andalucia, southern Spain.

Hunt, and his wife, set up Bodegas Tierra Hermosa in 2009 and has built up strong link with growers across Andalucia to create a range of wines from across the region.

Moreno Wines is to distribute in the UK his first two wines, both red varieties, which have been grown from some of the highest vineyards in Europe in the Granada province.

The wines were recently awarded 93 and 92 points respectively by IWC co-chair Derek Smedley MW. Hunt is looking to release his first white wine later in the year from the Andalucian province of Almeria.

Hunt said of the Moreno link up: "We're thrilled to start working with Moreno Wines. With Moreno representing us we can start to really move up a gear and broaden our presence in the UK. We this as a long-term relationship that will build as we expand our range of wines."

Abbi Moreno, associate director of Moreno Wines: "We have been searching for wines wines from this underrated region for some time and as soon as we tasted Harry's wines we knew that they would fit within our portfolio. We showcased the wines at this year's Wines of Spain fair and had some fantastic feedback from our customers, who are already looking forward to tasting Harry's new white wine."

Hunt has already gained distribution for his wines in Japan with Orchestra and are being distributed in Spain through PR Wines, set up by ex-Alliance Wine buyer, Peter Wallbridge.
