Fortnum & Mason unveils media awards shortlist

A number of leading wine writers have been recognised in the shortlist for the forthcoming Fortnum & Mason Food & Drink Awards 2013.

The awards, established by Fortnum & Mason to celebrate the finest food and drink talent in the UK media, includes 10 categories spanning from Food Book and Drink Book, to Cookery Writer and Television Programme.

In the Drink Book category, Jancis Robinson MW, Julia Harding MW and José Vouillamoz have been nominated for Wine Grapes, while the Drink Writer category includes renowned wine experts Victoria Moore and John Stimpfig.

Up for the Online Writer award, meanwhile, are bloggers Juel Mahoney (winewomansong.co.uk) and Helen McGinn (knackeredmotherswineclub.blogspot.co.uk).

Each category is judged by an expert panel including Angela Hartnett, Tom Parker Bowles, Xanthe Clay, Hamish Anderson, Fiona Beckett and Peter Richards MW. The Chairman of the panel is Ewan Venters, chief executive of Fortnum & Mason.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony, held at Fortnum & Mason, London, on May 14.
