Emerging regions showcased at new tasting

Published:  13 March, 2013

To find out which up-and-coming countries or regions could add variety and interest to your portfolio, sign up for the Emerging Regions Tasting.

Organised by the SITT team, in association with Harpers, the event will be held on Wednesday May 1 at 8 Northumberland Avenue in central London.

The tasting has been created to showcase wines from wine-producing regions and countries that are, as yet, relatively undiscovered by the UK market. It will offer a one-stop shop for independent and multiple on and off-trade buyers looking to add new, interesting or unusual wines to their wine list or range.

A range of specialist importers, producers and generics will be present from a number of eastern European, Mediterranean and South American wine regions.

The tasting will include representation from countries that are keen to establish a stronger presence in the UK, such as Croatia or Turkey, and lesser known DOs such as Bierzo in Spain, Nelson in New Zealand or Jura in France. Natural, biodynamic or organic exhibitors will also be present.

The Emerging Regions Tasting will be the first time that these countries and regions will be given the spotlight to demonstrate and show the styles of wines they think would be suitable to the UK wine market.
