BLOSSOM HILL STILL GROWING ST

Published:  23 July, 2008

Hot on the heels of the Blossom Hill expansion of its boxed range come two new wines to add to the fast growing Californian brand. Launched this month, the two new dual varietals - a Viognier/ Chardonnay and Cabernet/Shiraz - aim to bridge the gap between the blends and the single varietals. They will both retail for 4.49. Percy Fox & Co, the Diageo-owned brand owners of Blossom Hill, is claiming that the Californian brand is now the second largest wine brand, by volume, in the UK off-trade. Percy Fox is also launching a new Argentinian brand to coincide with the generic tasting.San Telmo, which is available in two varietals, Chardonnay and Malbec, will retail for 4.99, and is named after Buenos Aires' Tango district. Emma Chamberlain, head of marketing at Percy Fox, said: Argentinian wines have experienced a 16.4% value growth year on year and we are confident that San Telmo will help to drive sales.'
