Philipponnat launches 91 vintage demi-sec
A match for fois gras and desserts
Following its strategy of supplying a wide range of tailor-made Champagnes for the connoisseur and top restaurants, Champagne Philipponnat has just launched a limited edition of its 1991 Sublime Rserve. This unusual demi-sec Champagne has a dosage of 34g and is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes from top vineyard sites. While the recent trends in Champagne have moved strongly away from the sweeter styles to Brut, there is a very definite niche market for high-quality demi-sec wines that can ideally match foods such as fois gras and a wide range of desserts. Since the middle of 2000, Champagne Philipponnat has been represented in the UK by the family-owned company of Eurowines Ltd, which distributes the full range of Philipponnat Champagnes, including the renowned Clos des Goisses.
