Sud de France is to hold its first specialist importers' trade tasting of Languedoc-Roussillon wines in a bid to promote the region's strengths.

For one day only (October 9), 10 importers will come together to exhibit 140 Sud de France wines with rrps ranging from £8 to over £70, to the trade and press in London.

The aim is to give importers the chance to convince their clients that the Languedoc-Roussillon is the next classic French wine region and is no longer simply good value for money, but is also a region with some exceptional fine wines and exceptional terroirs essential for any wine list.

Isabelle Kanaan, director at the London Maison du Languedoc-Roussillon, said: "With this initiative Sud de France is not only helping the region's producers to export but is now directly supporting importers in a bid to help them better sell their Languedoc-Roussillon wines."

Importers involved are: Aubert & Mascoli, Indigo Wine, Clark Foyster, Les Caves de Pyrène, Enotria, Roberson Wine, H2Vin, Traditions & Innovations, Hallgarten Druitt and Wine Story.

The Sud de France Specialist Importers' Tasting: The Experts, takes place from 10am to 6:30pm on October 9 at the Maison de la Région Languedoc-Roussillon, 6
Cavendish Square, London W1G 0PD.
