ALCOHOLIC DRINKS CONFERENCE

The World Advertising Research Centre's (WARC) 8th annual Admap Alcoholic Drinks' conference on 30 September is on Social Responsibility - Threat or Opportunity?'. The event, to be held at the Millennium Knightsbridge hotel in London, has attracted speakers including: Jean Coussins, Portman Group chief executive; Andrew Brown, director general of the Advertising Association; Marketing Society chief executive Hugh Burkitt; Leanne Riley, a scientist with the World Health Organisation; Hamish Pringle, director general of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising; Jaspar Shelbourne, global creative director of JWT; and Rita Clifton, chairman of Interbrand. Representing the drinks industry are Chris Searle, executive director of Bacardi-Martini, and Wendy Darlington, brand marketing director at Diageo for Baileys, Captain Morgan, Gordon's and Pimm's.
